• Standardized Testing at Brookwood Forest

    District Benchmark Testing
In Mountain Brook, students are screened in math and reading in the Fall, Winter, and Spring.  Benchmark screeners are used to determine whether a student is making growth toward grade level skills and standards in core academic areas.  Our goal is for students to meet or exceed benchmark for these screeners.  The results of these screeners are one piece of data your child's teacher will use to tailor the child's instruction to his/her specific areas of strength and for growth.  Students in grades K-6 will be administered:
    • AIMS Web Math and Reading

    State Testing (ACAP Summative)

Students in 2nd - 6th grade participate in state-wide testing, and this year they are required to participate in Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program in the Spring.  All students in 2nd through 6th grades participate in Reading and Math testing; 4th and 6th graders will take the Science subtest as well.  ACAP Testing for the 2022-2023 school year will take place April 10th - 14th.

    Screeners for Gifted Services
Students in 2nd and 4th grade are administered the NNat (Naglieri), which is a screener for our PAGE program.  The NNat is not the single determining factor for PAGE placement, but it is one piece of data that is taken into consideration.  This test will be administered to students in February - specific dates are TBD.  For questions regarding the NNat and enrichment program, please contact Mrs. Katy Caughran.
