• The FAIR OAKS ADVENTURE CURRICULUM was written to enrich the physical education program and to be an addition to the classroom enrichment program using the teaching strategies of a classroom teacher in an outdoor setting. It is linked closely to the mission, vision, and goals of the Mountain Brook City School System.

Because peer and society pressure encourage students to participate in alcohol, tobacco, and drug related activities, this program gives students strategies to oppose negative behavior. This is done through goal setting, learning to value themselves, and others, and higher level thinking skills that encourage students to relate cooperative experiences to the school setting.
