August & September School Counselor Lessons

K: Introduction to the school counselor using the book, The Rabbit Listened.

              Students will meet the school counselor.

              Students will learn what a school counselor does at school.

1^st: Review/Introduction to the school counselor using the book, The Rabbit Listened.

              Students will meet the school counselor.

              Students will learn what a school counselor does at school.

2^nd: Review/Introduction to the school counselor & Introduction to The Energy Bus for Kids, by Jon Gordon

              Students will review who the school counselor is and what is provided by the school counselor.

Students will get an overview of the 5 rules of The Energy Bus:

• Create a Positive Vision (S.M.A.R.T. Goals)
• Fuel Your Ride with Positive Energy (Growth Mindset, positive thinking, problem solving)
• No Bullies Allowed (Bullying Prevention)
• Love Your Passengers (Making friends, getting along with others, positive conflict resolution, etc.)
• Enjoy the ride (Review)

3^rd: Review/Introduction to the school counselor & Bullying Prevention Lesson

              Students will review who the school counselor is and what is provided by the school counselor.

              Students will review Bullying Prevention and how to report bullying at JBES.

4^th: Review/Introduction to the school counselor & Bullying Prevention Lesson

              Students will review who the school counselor is and what is provided by the school counselor.

              Students will review Bullying Prevention and how to report bullying at JBES.
