If notification is not received from a parent/guardian by 9:00 a.m., designated school personnel will attempt to contact parents by telephone. In the event the reason for absence is not determined, the absence will be considered unexcused. Absences are unexcused unless the absence is due to illness, family emergency, medical appointments, a death in the immediate family, religious holiday or is determined excused by the building administrator. A parent may excuse a student for not more than 10 days in the school year if the parent notifies the school in writing before the absence. Examples of such absences include family vacations, travel out of town or attendance at special events. Students arriving late to school must check into the office. |
