My name is Jacqueline Carrasquillo and I will be your child’s first grade teacher, in Room 118. I am very excited to meet new students and reunite with familiar faces. Let me share a little bit about myself. I graduated from the Bay Path University with a major in Early Childhood Education and have taught at Woodrow Wilson Elementary for the past 14 years, Kindergarten – 3rd grade. I am currently a graduate student working on my Teaching English as a Second Language Masters of Education degree. I am fluent in Spanish and understand Portuguese. I am interested in reading, outdoor activities, serving the community and spending time with my husband and 3 daughters. I am a local resident and love community activities! I am looking forward to meeting and knowing every family personally.
First grade is filled with inquiry based lessons focusing on developing your child’s thinking skills. I am planning activities developing creative skills and using the interests of students to become lifelong learners. We will also be improving our reading, math and writing this year.
I hope to maintain an open communication with parents by using Class-Dojo reminders. This is a free app. Please accept my invitation to the classroom when you see it. I hope to make this school year educational as well as a fun-filled for your child.
If you would like to contact me or have questions, please use the Classroom Dojo app, call or e-mail me at (508) 626-9164 or jcarrasquillo@framingham.k12.ma.us.
