I grew up in Gig Harbor, WA where I spent my teen years as a camp counselor, daycare assistant and nanny.  I originally began school at WSU in the hopes to become a K-6 teacher.  After being faced with medical issues I fell in love with nursing.  I then transferred and attended Lewis Clark State College where I received my BSN.  I continued to work and live in Pullman, in both clinic and hospital settings.

After living in Pullman for 14 years we decided it was time to move closer to family, and I accepted a position at Memorial Hospital in Yakima as a mother/baby RN, where I have been working for the last 5 years.  In the fall of 2018 I began substituting for the Ellensburg School District.  I was excited to make the transition to being a full-time nurse for the district.

I have been married for 18 years, and we have three children ages 15, 6 and 5.  We are also licensed foster parents.  Our family spends a great deal of time on the soccer field with the kiddos and it would be rare to not find us hanging with the kids during our free time.

My name is Janelle Johnson, the nurse at Morgan Middle School!  I started with Ellensburg School District in the Spring of 2019 at Morgan Middle School.  I came to the district with 14 years of nursing experience.  I previously worked in skilled nursing and at a local family practice clinic.

 My husband and I have two children, Cayden (3rd grade) and Aria (Kindergarten).  We enjoy spending time outdoors and are working on building a cabin where we hope to make many family memories.

I am currently at Morgan Middle School two days a week so that I can be home with my kids on days they do not have in-person school.

My name is Jenny McHargue and I am so excited to be a part of Ellensburg School District this year. I love working with the students and amazing staff at both Lincoln and MMS.

I have been working as an LPN for over twenty years and have worked in Family Practice, Pediatrics, and as a school nurse previously. I am currently working towards obtaining my Registered Nurse (RN) license.

I am a mom of two awesome kids, my boy is 18 and girl is 10. My son is going into construction and my daughter attends Mt. Stuart. In my free time I like to ride horses with my daughter, hunt with my son, and for myself I love to curl up with a book. I have enjoyed getting to know many of you and look forward to meeting many more.

My name is Jessica Hamer, I am the Nurse at Valley View Elementary and have been working in healthcare for 16 years. I have been married to Christopher Hamer for 13 years and together we have 2 boys, Kaiden (12 years old) and Garrus (7 years old) We have a mini zoo at our house, which includes 2 beta fish, a 5-year-old long haired German Shepherd named Jango (from Star Wars), a 5-month old Pug named Pineapple, and a 23 (going on 3) year old African Gray Parrot that we adopted named Eliza. I am originally from El Paso, TX, where Chris and I met when he was stationed at Ft. Bliss and moved to Ellensburg when he was discharged from the Army. 

As a Nurse, I have found a love for helping individuals with Type 1 Diabetes. I have focused my continuing education on Diabetes and use my summers to volunteer at Camp Leo, which is a camp for children going into 3rd grade to high school students who have Type 1 Diabetes. I also help with Camp Leo Family Camp as well and have so much fun taking my family along! If I am not working at Valley View, picking up shifts at the hospital or at camp, you can find me at home in my craft room, camping, or on the court with my boys for basketball or my niece for volleyball. 

Hello, my name is Sally Karam. I was born in New York but grew up in El Paso, Texas. I met my husband there, had 4 children and attended college for nursing. I began working as an LPN on a pediatric unit, and pursued my RN degree in nursing. My experience has been mainly with children, and babies for the last 20 years. 

When my children grew up, they moved to Ellensburg and I soon followed. I began as a school nurse with ESD in 2019 and absolutely love working with all the children and staff and Mt.  Stuart Elementary school.
