Teaching & Learning

In Ellensburg School District (ESD) we are committed to knowing each child’s strengths and needs both for their academic and social emotional development. We are also committed to  creating systems pre-kindergarten through graduation that build off of those individual strengths and strategically support individual needs. We want all students to feel appropriately challenged and grow.

Our vision is to ensure all students will graduate prepared for life’s opportunities. The ESD School Board has Board Ends that describe the outcomes we are dedicated to helping our students attain. They include “Foundations for Academic and Future Ready Skills,” “Successful Global Citizens in an Ever Changing World,” and “Academic and Social Connections.” You can read more about those here

ESD has dedicated, insightful, and creative teachers who have expertise in the content and delivery of instruction. Teachers and administrators work collaboratively to ensure that ESD has high quality, rigorous instructional materials and that we use evidence based practices in our classrooms to meet the diverse needs of students.

In ESD we are dedicated to helping children meet their personal goals as well as the goals laid out for them by ESD and by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction. That involves having strong partnerships with students, families, and the community. Together we can ensure our children receive an outstanding education that prepares them to be successful members of a community and be personally fulfilled.
