The East Haven Science Department offers science elective courses in which students participate in animal dissection. Students who decline to participate will be offered alternatives to dissection. Those alternatives are up to the discretion of the teacher and shall include the content knowledge expected to be gained as a result of the dissection activity
LABORATORY SAFETY
To prevent injury to students and staff, and to minimize damage to equipment and personal effects, each student will be required to read and sign a statement regarding conduct in the laboratory and general safety rules. Failure to comply with these lab safety rules could lead to students being removed from the lab and losing credit and a grade for the activity.
