September 26, 2022 – Webster Elementary teacher Ina Bowling was recognized today as September 2022 Kahok Educator of the Month. The award was presented by Edward Jones Financial Advisor Jason Rehg.
In her nomination of Ina Bowling, Webster Principal Mrs. Schumacher wrote:
It is my pleasure to select Ina Bowling as Kahok September Educator of the Month. Although I have only worked with Mrs. Bowling for three years, It is evident that her love for children is and always will be of the utmost importance.
Ina Bowling radiates passion and a zest for learning that is reflective in her integration of the curriculum and her interpretation of what’s best for students. Ina is always willing to do whatever it takes for students to succeed with both SEL and academic goals in mind. She has taken the initiative to work alongside the district’s Diversity and Equity committee to provide curriculum that will intrigue and inspire her students. She acknowledges their individuality and purposefully addresses their needs. Additionally, the norms and routines that she has established are evident whether she is present or not.
Ina is an active participant and team player. She is one of the first to volunteer to assist where needed. She arrives at school first thing in the morning to prepare for the day and is continuously seen after school helping both students and staff with whatever task is at hand. She is the school PBIS coordinator and models what she preaches. Ina embraces challenges with optimism and dedication as she does not hesitate to adapt and innovate.
Mrs. Bowling is held in high regard by the education community. Her strong work ethic, her ability to inspire others, and her commitment to the values of education make her more than deserving of this award. Additionally, her positivity and sense of humor make her a colleague that everyone wants to be around. I am truly fortunate to have Ina as a staff member at Webster Elementary.
