October 30, 2023 – Webster Elementary educational assistant Holly Blakeburn was recognized today as October 2023 Kahok Educator of the Month. The award was presented by Webster Principal Alison Schumacher and local Benjamin F. Edwards financial advisor Jason Rehg.
In her nomination of Holly Blakeburn, Principal Schumacher wrote:
It is my pleasure to select Holly Blakeburn as Webster’s October Educator of the Month. Hiring Holly as an Educational Assistant three years ago is one of the best decisions I have made as an administrator.
Holly isn’t only an educational assistant at Webster, she is a Webster mom that gives her all. From serving as Webster’s PTO President to performing any and all duties asked of her, she consistently goes above and beyond helping whenever and wherever. She often volunteers her time and abilities without even being asked. She arrives at school first thing in the morning to prepare for the day and is continuously seen after school helping both students and staff with whatever task is at hand. She is a friend to all and a stranger to nobody.
Her humble nature, her selflessness and her commitment to the students of Webster make her more than deserving of this award. I am truly fortunate to work alongside Holly each and every day.
Benjamin F. Edwards Financial Advisor and Vice President/Investments Jason Rehg sponsors the award each month during the school year to recognize outstanding educators in Collinsville Community Unit School District #10.
