October 19, 2021 – Webster Elementary social worker Brittany Turner was recognized today as September 2021 Kahok Educator of the Month. The award was presented by Edward Jones Representative Jason Rehg and Webster Principal Alison Schumacher.
Principal Schumacher said:
“It is my pleasure to select Brittany Turner as Kahok’s September Educator of the Month. Although I have only worked with Mrs. Turner for a little over a year as her administrator, I have witnessed Mrs.Turner’s professionalism both as a social worker and as an advocate for all students and staff. It is apparent that in addition to her deep knowledge of professional practices, she also has an intrinsic understanding of the importance of building effective relationships with multiple stakeholders in creating positive outcomes for all students.
Brittany continuously models flexibility while meeting with students in both the classroom and in individual sessions. She is consistently shown modeling the Kahok creed in all arenas as well. Her passion for the students and staff at Webster is evident in everything she does. She is a constant around the building assisting whenever and wherever help is needed. Brittany never hesitates to assist when a crisis arises and is usually the first on the scene, offering her words of wisdom or a listening ear. Brittany is constantly going above and beyond.
Furthermore, She is constantly found working with the students and staff at Webster to ensure a positive atmosphere, filled with learning opportunities. Her patience towards the staff and students is another quality that I admire about her. She never has a cross word even when tension is mounting. Her cool and calm demeanor is something that is valued here at Webster.
Although Brittany has only been a Webster Cardinal for a short time, she is a remarkable role model for other staff members. She exhibits ethical and professional behavior at all times, while finding joy in the simple daily interactions with each person and child. I am truly fortunate to have Brittany as a staff member at Webster Elementary.
Mrs. Turner is more than deserving of this award.”
