The Board of Education and the Unit 10 staff join the country in mourning the death of those who lost their lives during the Connecticut school tragedy last Friday, December 14. We understand the anxiety and worry that this tragedy has created for all parents. The school district has continued to implement increased security measures in our schools, and we provide ongoing safety training for all staff to assist them in keeping themselves and your children safe at school. Our law enforcement professionals are working closely with us to increase their presence in and around our schools this week and the weeks ahead. Our district’s Help and Response Team is ready and able to provide counseling or assistance to any staff member or student who may need an opportunity to talk to someone about the tragedy. You will find additional resources below. Please know that we are committed to doing everything in our power to keep your children safe in Unit 10. The district takes any and all threats against staff or students seriously. We want to thank our parents and our community for working with the school district for the safety and security of all.
