Twin Echo Elementary was one of four Illinois schools named a National PTA School of Excellence for 2020-22. This is the second consecutive time the school earned the designation.
“Congratulations to our PTA for achieving the recognition of a ‘National PTA School of Excellence!'” said Twin Echo Principal Dr. Julie Haake. “Our outstanding family-school partnerships have earned us this prestigious award. We were one of only two schools in the Southern Illinois region to achieve this. Thank you to our PTA officers and members and our faculty and staff for helping Twin Echo reach this significant accomplishment – for the second time in a row!”
Twin Echo was also named a National PTA School of Excellence for 2018-2020.

“We are thrilled to honor the accomplishments of . . . all of the 2020-2022 Schools of Excellence in Illinois. The efforts of these PTAs to engage families have resulted in a positive impact on our students,” said Carolyn McCarty, President of Illinois Parent Teacher Association. “Family engagement is a critical component of the PTA vision, as we recognize parents are key partners in helping students learn in-school and at home.”
National PTA’s School of Excellence program is a year-long commitment to improving family-school partnerships. Throughout the year, PTAs and schools collect feedback from their school communities to create and implement plans of action to make a difference for every child. Through the School of Excellence program, PTAs and families become key partners in decision-making and school improvement efforts. The program opens the lines of communication and critical thinking within school communities to make data-drive decisions that yield positive, long-term results.
