Update (5:00 p.m.). The Unit 10 elementary student who was traveling in a vehicle that was involved in a two-car collision was treated and released from an area hospital. The student’s injuries were not serious. The three high school students that were traveling in the other vehicle were all transported to St. Louis hospitals and are listed in serious but stable condition.
At approximately 11:45 a.m., four district students were involved in a car accident off of district property. Three high school students were traveling in a car that collided with a second car. The second car included a Unit 10 elementary student, his mother and a family friend. One high school student is in serious condition and has been transported to St. Louis. The other five individuals involved in the two-car accident have been transported to local hospitals. Their injuries are serious but not believed to be life threatening.
Emergency responders have contacted the families of all injured students. The district will provide updates, as information becomes available on its district website at www.kahoks.org.
