February 23, 2022 – Tina Meier, founder of the Megan Meier Foundation, spoke to students and staff at Collinsville Middle School today about the importance of “empowering our society to celebrate individuality and the acceptance of others, that we can work together to make a difference and create a safer and kinder world.”

The Megan Meier Foundation (MMF) was founded by Tina Meier in 2007 after her thirteen-year-old daughter Megan took her own life following a cruel cyberbullying hoax by an adult neighbor. MMF is based in St. Charles, MO, but its vision “To Support and Inspire Actions to End Bullying, Cyberbullying, and Suicide” and message of education, prevention, and intervention have resonated across the globe and put the foundation in the forefront of bullying and cyberbullying prevention.
Tina’s presentations include Megan’s story, bullying, cyberbullying, digital footprints, sexting, bystanders vs. upstanders, empathy, suicide awareness and prevention. Presentations promote help-seeking behaviors.
After spending most of the day talking to CMS students, Tina Meier provided a special presentation after-school in the Collinsville High School auditorium to CUSD 10 staff from schools throughout the district. Funding was provided by Title IV.
