Two individuals and one group were honored at the September 23, 2019 Collinsville Community Unit School District #10 Board of Education meeting.
Twin Echo Principal Dr. Julie Haake presented a certificate of achievement to her school’s secretary, Mrs. Lauri Fischer, in recognition of Fischer
Collinsville High School Assistant Principal Dan Toberman and CUSD 10 Director of Special Education Ali Underwood jointly presented a certificate to CHS Social Worker Mrs. Kristin Trapp, in recognition of Trapp being selected by the Illinois State Board of Education’s Those Who Excel awards program to receive an award for “Excellence- School Support Personnel (Certified).”
Fischer and Trapp will be honored by ISBE at an awards ceremony in Bloomington, IL on October 19.
Dr. Kari Karidis, principal of Kreitner Elementary School, presented a certificate to members of the Kreitner PTA in honor of the school’s PTA being named a National PTA School of Excellence for 2019-21. The school also received the special designation for the 2017-19 school years.
Carolyn McCarty, Director at Illinois PTA – Southern Region, spoke briefly congratulating Kreitner PTA for their achievement and explaining how difficult it is to achieve National PTA School of Excellence status. She said since Kreitner earned the designation in 2017, other schools across the state use them as a benchmark.
Board President Gary Peccola and Superintendent Dr. Mark B. Skertich complimented all who were honored.
