The University of Chicago, in collaboration with the Illinois State Board of Education, is currently administering the seventh annual 5Essentials Survey to provide insight into the effectiveness of public schools across the state.
Between now and February 15, 2019, teachers, students and parents have the opportunity to provide feedback about how schools are performing based on five indicators identified as barometers of school success:
- Effective Leaders
- Collaborative Teachers
- Involved Families
- Supportive Environments
- Ambitious Instruction
All teachers and 4-12 grade students will be responding to this survey. Results will be sent to schools and districts in March and appear as part of the State Report Card.
In addition, if at least 20 percent of CUSD 10 parents complete this survey, a parent supplement report will also be generated. Parent participation helps us understand the conditions at your child’s school and guide improvement. Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child.
