February 4, 2022 – Show your support for the CUSD 10 administrators and faculty participating in the 2022 Polar Plunge: Collinsville Dumpster Plunge – Region J at the Collinsville VFW on Friday, February 18. The event is part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge for Illinois Special Olympics.
Illinois Special Olympics Region J provides programming for people in Bond, Calhoun, Clinton, Fayette, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Monroe, Montgomery, St. Clair and Washington counties.
“This event benefits the Special Olympics, which our very own athletes participate in throughout the year,” said CUSD 10 Special Education Director Alison Underwood. “Kahok Nation can donate online in support of our team. There are no donations too small or large!”
Teams from communities around the region will participate. On the night of the event, registration is from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. Participants will start the plunge at 6:00 pm.
Sarah Gafford, social worker for Twin Echo and Renfro Elementary Schools, is the Kahoks Polar Plunge Team Captain. Superintendent Dr. Skertich, CHS Principal Dan Toberman, CHS Athletics Director Clay Smith, CUSD HR Director Kevin Robinson, and many teachers are among the participants.
