April 25, 2022 – The Collinsville CUSD 10 Board of Education recognized members of the Collinsville High School Boys and Girls Bowling Teams, and 2021-22 Student School Board member Emma Clark during their April 25, 2022 regular monthly meeting.
CHS Bowling: The Boys and Girls Bowling Teams are being recognized this month for qualifying for State Competition and other accomplishments. Those recognized were: Courtney Baer, Lauren Henze, Cassidy Stewart, Cindy Freeman, Sophie Tottleben, Emily Dahl, Livia Montgomery, Caici Buckman, Cole Benson, Evan Flowers, Cole Buckman, Bandon Campbell, Mason Foley, Conner Charman, Ben Sloan, Jacob Taylor, Daniel Wilde, and coaches Sean Hay, Joe Legendre, Mark Bruncic, and Charlie Johnson.
“This year both teams advanced to the state tournament and we want to recognize the success of our student athletes. Collectively, these young men and women have excelled in the classroom, during competition and representing our district and communities. Bowling has a major following in our communities thanks to the dedication of our coaches, Sean Hay, Charlie Johnson, Mark Bruncic and Joe Legendre, and the support of their families and Camelot Bowl. On behalf of the district, I want to congratulate them on another great season and we look forward to continued success in the future,” said Superintendent Dr. Skertich.
Kahok Boys Bowling was 10-6 this year; placed 2nd in regionals, 3rd in sectionals and qualified for the State Tournament. Kahok Girls Bowling had a 17-0 undefeated regular season; they placed 1st in regionals, 1st in sectionals and qualified for the State Tournament.
During their 2021-22 season, the bowling teams collected canned goods at matches to donate to the local food pantry and raised $6,700 for the American Cancer Society.
Emma Clark: The CUSD 10 Student School Board Member this year is senior Emma Clark. Emma has a strong work ethic, is involved in multiple school activities and excels academically. Her project this school year was to conduct a survey of students in grades 5-12 and report her findings to the Board of Education. Emma’s information will serve as a benchmark for the CHS Student Advisory Board and future student school board members to utilize. Click HERE to read her report.
