April 18, 2023 – The Collinsville Community Unit School District #10 Board of Education honored student achievement in academics and fine arts during their April 17, 2023 regular monthly meeting.
The students were introduced by their building principals who presented a certificate of recognition signed by Board President Gary Peccola and Superintendent Dr. Mark B. Skertich.
Those honored were:
Zabrielle Gower, Twin Echo Elementary: Zabrielle’s art K-Pop World was chosen to advance to the national level in the visual arts division of the Illinois PTA Reflections program.
Adelyn Johnson, CHS: Adelyn was selected to received the St. Louis University Presidential Scholarship. SLU’s Presidential Scholarship is a four-year, full-tuition award. Adelyn plans to be pre-med with a focus on neuroscience.
Katelyn Berger, CHS: Katelyn was recognized for earning a rating of “excellent” in the solo song category of the International Thespian Excellence Awards.
Thalia Mills, CHS: Thalia was recognized for earning a rating of “superior” in the set design category of the International Thespian Excellence Awards. She will advance to international competition in June 2023 at Indiana University Bloomington.
Maleah Gilliland, CHS: Maleah was recognized for earning a rating of “superior” in the solo acting category of the International Thespian Excellence Awards. She will advance to international competition in June 2023 at Indiana University Bloomington.
Nevaeh Papp, CHS will receive a certificate of recognition in for earning a rating of “excellent” in the solo song category of the International Thespian Excellence Awards. She was unable to attend the school board meeting.
