Over the weekend, Collinsville High School was made aware of a threat circulating in social media that referenced a “CHS.”
Collinsville Illinois Police Department verified the school impacted was a different “CHS” in southwestern Missouri — NOT Collinsville High School. Our students and community are not involved.
On Sunday, February 25, Principal David Snider sent this message to Collinsville High School families explaining the situation.
“Good evening. This is Collinsville High School Principal David Snider. The school has recently received a few inquiries pertaining to a social media post attributed to a DIFFERENT CHS. The school impacted by a posted threat is actually located in southwestern Missouri. Our local police department was on top of things as usual and confirmed the specifics of the incident to me.
As always, I expect a safe and academically engaging week of school at Collinsville High School. Thank you very much and have a nice evening.”
At no time were our “CHS” students in danger. We want to assure the community that these situations are always taken seriously and investigated by authorities.
