- KAHOKstrong is sponsoring a Pink Out Day on Friday, Oct. 6, to raise money for the Kelley Liljegren Memorial Scholarship. Everyone is asked to wear pink that day and to the Kahok football game that evening vs. Belleville West.
Toni Geisen, co-sponsor of KAHOKstrong, says, “KAHOKStrong, along with Mike, Hanna, Luke and Faith [Liljegren], has created a scholarship in Kelley’s memory that will be awarded annually to a graduating senior from CHS over the course of 4 years in their post-high school education. 100% of the proceeds from this event will go directly to the scholarship fund.”
Kelley Liljegren was a mother, Collinsville High School math teacher and fervent Kahok fan who courageously battled breast cancer for many years.
To help support the scholarship fund, KAHOKStrong is selling special Pink Out shirts. The t-shirts are on sale at Collinsville High School in room 203 and the library. Hoodies, as well as short- and long-sleeved t-shirts in sizes YS-YL and AS-3X are available online. Adult and youth t-shirts are $10, long-sleeved t-shirts are $15 and hoodies are $20. Online orders must be received by September 24.
(Online purchasers will be notified by email regarding pick-up at Collinsville High School.)
