On Saturday, April 28, at 2:00 p.m. the community is invited to a FREE outdoor concert presented by the Collinsville High School Tri-M Music Honor Society.
The performance begins at 2:00 p.m. on the quad — the grassy area behind and between the high school buildings accessed through the metal gates. Guests are welcome to bring a blanket or lawn chair, some chairs will be provided.
In case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved inside to the CHS Auditorium.
At the conclusion of the concert, children will have a chance to explore their musical talents through “hands-on” interaction. Tri-M vocalists and musicians will guide the younger ones as they try an instrument or learn to sing.
“The goal of the event is to encourage children to participate in a musical group as they grown older in school,” says CHS Assistant Band Director and Tri-M Music Honor Society Advisor Ryan Stack, “Our band and choir members love to share their talent with the community.”
Tri-M (formerly Modern Music Masters) is the national honor society for student musicians. It is reserved for students who are “academically capable and musically gifted.”
