Congratulations to Maryville Elementary School 2nd grade teacher Michele Sheahan who was chosen Kahok Educator of the Month for October 2019.
Ms. Sheahan was surprised during a school assembly on Thursday October 10, 2019 by Edward Jones Representative Jason Rehg and members of the CUSD 10 administrative team.
Principal Carmen Loemker chose Ms. Sheahan because of her outstanding leadership within the school, as well as with district initiatives.
“Mrs. Sheahan is always willing to help other teachers and students. She worked tirelessly at the start of the year to get new (and old) staff members set up with Wonders Accounts as well as other technology needs. This week when there was no sub, she had 48 students in her room for a math lesson and made it look easy,” said Principal Loemker.
Loemker added, “In addition, she serves as a second grade representative on the District Curriculum Council and gives of her own time to improve education for students across the district. Mrs. Sheahan is always calm, cool, and collected with challenging students and seeks creative ways to meet their needs. She maintains positive relationships with parents and staff members. She is without a doubt, an invaluable asset to our school community.”
Local Edward Jones Representative Jason Rehg sponsors the award each month during the school year to recognize outstanding educators in Collinsville CUSD 10.
