Kreitner Elementary School first grade teacher, Mr. Greg Hobbs received a 2018 Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award.
Mr. Hobbs was one of 109 teachers in the bi-state area who received the award on November 11, 2018 during a ceremony at the Ritz-Carlton in St. Louis.
The Emerson Excellence in Teaching Awards program, sponsored by Emerson, annually recognizes more than 100 educators in the St. Louis metropolitan area – from kindergarten teachers to college professors – who are examples of excellence in their field.
“Mr. Hobbs is a seasoned teacher who displays excellence and dedication teaching students, advising academic teams and volunteering for extra-curricular activities such as PTA,” said Kreitner Principal Dr. Todd Pettit.
“Technology, Innovation and Leadership are pillars of success for Emerson and are pillars that allow Mr. Hobbs to be a successful educator,” added Pettit, who nominated Hobbs for the award.
After a long career in education, making a difference on the local, state and national level, Mr. Hobbs is retiring at the end of this school year.
