Kreitner Elementary School hosted its 20th Cinco de Mayo Festival on Monday, May 7, 2018.
Students in grades 1-4 practiced for months to perform traditional Mexican dances that impressed the audience and provided a celebratory spirit for the evening. Kindergarten classes welcomed everyone with special songs.
The event was presented under the direction of ELL Teacher Laura Cayetano. ELL Teacher Maria Hernandez helped coordinate the administrative portion of the festival and Chara Helton provided student support and decorations. Lisett and Fatima Gonzales, Monique Meza and Annavel Ramirez were recognized for their efforts.
Following the student performances, guests visited the school book fair and sampled treats in the cafeteria. Tienda Y Restaurante El Ranchito donated an assortment of Mexican sweet breads from Diana’s Bakery in St. Louis.
