Ever wonder what place a library has in today’s electronic world?
CUSD 10 libraries are alive and well — and offer high tech support for students and families as well as traditional books and resources.
Our library/media centers at Collinsville High School and Middle School are staffed by teachers who specialize in library science. Through a special website they’ve created: www.kahoksread.org, extensive library resources are available to every student in the district 24/7.
Kahoksread.org provides access to audio and eBooks for grades K-12. It includes links to databases for research, citation generators and media resources, such as video clips and non-royalty music.
Students can access the databases on the site by using their school username and password.
To access eBooks: Students click “Destiny” on the kahoksread.org site. Click on their school and login with their district provided username and password (contact the student’s teacher if this is unknown) Search for eBook by selecting material type or click “Follett Shelf ” (button on the left).
Library use and account status can also be monitored via the website. Check out the video on how to use Destiny.
