February 8, 2021 – Collinsville High School Bowlers are teaming up with their rivals at Triad High School to raise funds for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. An annual charity bowl-a-thon event featuring the two schools has become an anticipated local tradition.
Kahok Bowling Coach Sean Hay says, “Both teams work together to jointly raise funds for a common charity. Since we are the host this year, our charity is Leukemia/Lymphoma Society.”
The third annual Camelot Charity Challenge will be Saturday, February 13, 2021, beginning at noon at Camelot Bowl in Collinsville. The bowlers will be observing public health guidelines: wearing masks, social distancing, sanitizing and hand hygiene protocols. Spectators are invited to watch a livestream of the match on the CHS Kahoks Bowling YouTube Channel.
“I love that both schools are competing on the lanes and cooperating in raising funds for a higher cause, added Hay, “Once funds are collected from both teams, we will be sending a check to LLS and announcing our totals on the team social media platforms.”
“The community can support the event by sponsoring a bowler (or bowlers) by pledging a monetary amount per pin bowled on the day of the event. If you pledge a penny a pin and they bowl a 500 series, then you would owe $5.00. Our bowler’s series will range from 450-750, with most falling in the upper 500’s to lower 600’s. We will also take cash/check donations of a flat amount,” says Hay.
