October 13, 2023 – On October 10, 2023, the Collinsville Community Unit School District #10 Board of Education appointed Jennifer Hasamear of Collinsville to fill a vacant position on the board.
Ms. Hasamear was chosen after the board of education conducted interviews with all applicants who wished to be considered to fill the vacancy that occurred when board member and vice president Tim Hasamear passed away in August 2023.
In conformity with Illinois School Code, 105 ILCS 5/10-10, the CUSD 10 Board of Education solicited letters of interest from individuals who wanted to be considered for appointment by the board to fill the vacancy. Applications were collected between August 24 and September 8, 2023. Interested persons filed a letter of interest, resume and explanation of how they would positively impact the Collinsville School District.
“The board was fortunate to have a good panel of applicants to choose from to fill the vacancy,” said Board of Education President Gary Peccola, “Jenn is well-qualified and will make a good addition to the board. We are looking forward to working with her.”
Hasamear will serve until the next regular school board election, at which time a candidate will be elected for the position.
