Forty-four members of the senior class at Collinsville High School have been named 2016-2017 State Scholar Finalists by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission.
The Illinois State Scholar Program recognizes students for outstanding academic achievement. State scholar designation provides honorary recognition with no monetary award. Approximately the top ten percent of graduates from approved high schools are announced as State Scholars each year.
State Scholar status is reserved for U.S. citizens (or eligible non-citizens) who reside in Illinois and attend an approved high school. Selection is based on a formula which takes into account ACT or SAT scores and high school grades/class rank. Students must be slated to graduate from high school during the academic year in which they are selected as a State Scholar.
