Dorris Intermediate School students have been busy throughout Fall 2019 learning in the school’s after school STEM program.
On November 7, 2019, DIS students participated in the 7th annual Caine’s Arcade Cardboard STEM Challenge and Family Night. Students made cardboard versions of popular arcade games and shared them with family and friends.
Later in the month, they had an opportunity to participate in the MakerSpace STEM Challenge. This STEM Challenge was all about exploring the DIS MakerSpace room to create mini engineering and design projects. DIS STEM Teacher Jason Watts reports, “Students made and took home several STEMtastic projects and hopefully learned a thing or two about creative thinking and cooperation!”
