Dorris Intermediate School Students Tour CAVC

Dorris Intermediate School students were treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of the course offerings at Collinsville Area Vocational Center on May 1, 2018.

The DIS groups learned about careers and took part in hands-on experiences led by the CAVC staff and students.

The idea behind the visit to to familiarize the younger students with vocational learning opportunities. According to Dr. Tricia Blackard, CAVC director, the upcoming school year is the first that will include vocational enrollment of high school students who were part of a tour when they attended DIS. According to Blackard, CAVC enrollment for the 2018-19 school year is up by 10%.
