February 24, 2021 – Two Dorris Intermediate School music students placed in the Top 100 of the 31st Annual Picture the Music Competition sponsored by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.
“Despite the challenges of this school year, more than 6,000 students from 49 schools created artwork inspired by the musical selection. Teachers selected and submitted 300 entries,” according to Chair of Picture the Music Sherry Moschner and Vice Chair Debbie Eldridge.
DIS music teacher Leah Milton learned two of her students, Emerson Morris and Lila Clark, were among those earning recognition.
The Top 100 were announced on February 24, 2021. Planning for an online (ZOOM) Awards Ceremony honoring the 100 finalists is underway. During the Awards Ceremony, each finalist’s name will be announced. After the awards ceremony, artwork created by the 100 finalists for 2021 will be displayed on slso.org/picture.
