May 31, 2023 – Collinsville Delta Epsilon Chapter 101 of the Delta Kappa Gamma International Society of Key Women Educators voted unanimously to make a $1,000 donation to the Kahoks Teaching Kahoks future teachers initiative.
The Collinsville Delta Epsilon Chapter includes retired and current educators from Collinsville Community Unit School District #10. They uphold the DKG mission to “promote professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.”
Delta Epsilon Co-President Jan Mattea said the organization’s focus is directly in line with the Kahoks Teaching Kahoks mission to support the future of education and encourage students to return and teach in Collinsville schools.
Kahoks Teaching Kahoks was launched in 2021 as a “grow our Own” future teacher program to encourage current high school students to become educators in Collinsville CUSD 10. Kahoks Teaching Kahoks includes specialized curriculum through the Collinsville Area Vocational Center and four-year scholarships available to Collinsville High School students pursuing education as a career.
Mattea and Delta Epsilon Co-President Patsy Conway presented the check to CUSD 10 Superintendent Dr. Mark B. Skertich and CAVC Director Joe McGinnis.
Kahoks Teaching Kahoks is supported through the Collinsville Area Community Foundation. CACF is a public charitable organization as defined by Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All contributions and gifts are tax deductible. Donations and bequests are accepted from and disbursed to individuals, groups or businesses.
