August 12, 2021 – Effective immediately, CUSD 10 is suspending the ability to comment on our district Facebook posts. This decision is based on recent and repeated violations of the Facebook Page Comment Guidelines posted on our page.
According to current guidelines that we posted in June 2019:
“The Collinsville Community Unit School District No. 10 (School District) Facebook Page is provided to the community with the purpose of providing and sharing to the public information, news, student and staff achievements, and other relevant School District information. While the School District encourages questions, comments and concerns, please note this Facebook Page is not a public forum. This social media site serves as a limited public forum and all content published is subject to monitoring consistent with these comment guidelines.”
Unfortunately, in recent days, Facebook post comments have violated our request for “respect and civility”on the page. Personal attacks, misinformation and profanity will not be tolerated. Comments that bully, intimidate and harass another user are prohibited. (To read the guidelines in full, see the “Notes” section of our Facebook page or CLICK HERE.)
We want to remind everyone: the best place to ask questions or express concerns is to contact school district administration. We hope to allow comments again in the future. In the meantime, this decision was made to return a sense of decency to our page as we continue to provide important information to our families and the community-at-large.
