CUSD 10 celebrated K-8 writers at the annual Young Authors’ Tea at the Collinsville Memorial Library Center on March 15, 2018.
Maryville Elementary Principal Carmen Loemker hosted the event that featured Collinsville Illinois Fire Department Chief Kevin Edmond as the “surprise reader.” Chief Edmond read Pete the Cat and His Magic Sunglasses by Kimberly and James Dean.
Following the award certificate presentation, the Young Authors and their guests enjoyed cookies and punch.

Madison County winners can take part in the ROE 41 Young Authors Conference in April at Edwardsville High School. State winners have the opportunity to attend the Illinois Young Author’s Conference during May in Normal, IL.
