December 6, 2021 – Collinsville High School is preparing to welcome the CHS class of 2026 to the South Morrison campus for the 2022-23 school year. Following is information all incoming freshmen and families need to know to transition to high school next year.

Please note: Collinsville Middle School families will receive a mailing in mid-December with specific details regarding course registration. Private/parochial school families should have received information in November.

Monday, January 3, 2021: Getting to Know CHS (for Spanish-speaking families) – Collinsville High School Counselors will be at Kreitner Elementary School Gymnasium (9000 College Avenue, Collinsville, IL) with translators to present information about Collinsville High School, how to be successful, and to answer questions. Tuesday, January 4, 2021: Getting to Know CHS (ALL families) – There will be a presentation at 6:30 p.m. followed by a question and answer session with representatives from each subject area, and a club/activity fair. Parents and students will meet the administration, counselors and teachers to hear about course offerings and the selection of courses.

Saturday, January 8, 2021: Open House in CHS Counseling Department (interested families) – You may wish to meet with a counselor individually by visiting our Open House for incoming 9th grade students from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Open House will be held in the Counseling Department at CHS where we will meet families on a first come, first serve basis. Enter the building through the main visitor entrance at the front of the school.
SPECIAL INFORMATION FOR 8TH GRADERS CURRENTLY ATTENDING A PRIVATE/PAROCHIAL SCHOOL:
Students new to Collinsville CUSD 10 MUST be enrolled in the district. Resident families can enroll new students to the district for the 2022-23 school year ONLINE through Skyward Family Access. (You can find complete information about enrolling a new student – including proof-of-residency requirements on the Enrollment and Registration page on the district website.)
If you do not already have a Skyward Family Access account: Please create an account by following the steps in the CUSD 10 New Student Online Enrollment Parent Guide. This guide walks you step-by-step through the entire enrollment process, including a list of documents necessary to prove residency in the district. Please note that a valid email address is required. If you do not have a valid email address, you may obtain a free one through GMAIL, YAHOO, or OUTLOOK.
If you currently have a student attending school in the Collinsville Unit 10 School District: Please use your existing Skyward Login to complete the New Student Online Enrollment Application. Please refer to the step-by-step CUSD 10 New Student Enrollment Parent Guide for assistance.
The entire enrollment process can be done from the comfort of your home, however, if you are having difficulties or you have questions about the enrollment process you can schedule an in-person appointment. At this time the district is limiting in-person assistance and is requiring everyone to have an appointment. The link to request an appointment is on the Enrollment & Registration page.

PLEASE NOTE: District Offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, December 23th and 24th; Thursday and Friday, December 30th and 31st; and Monday, January 17th for holidays.
How to Register All Incoming Freshmen for Fall 2022 Courses
We recommend you visit the CHS Counseling Department website to complete the required Registration Worksheet. Once there, click on the “Academics” tab on the left side of the screen. Under this section you will see a folder called “Course Offering Guide & Registration Information.” In this folder, you will find resources such as a virtual tour of the school, the Course Guide which provides course descriptions, sample completed registration worksheets by grade, introduction videos made by departments, and more.
Checklist for incoming 9th grade parents & students:
- Enroll in Collinsville Community Unit School District #10 if not currently an 8th grader in the district.
- Complete the 9th Grade Course Registration Worksheet. Write the student’s name on the top of the page (Last, First).
- Circle the student’s T-Shirt Size.
- On the front in rows labeled 1, 2, and 3, circle the chosen English, Math, and Science Courses. Placement for English, Math and Science classes will be based on Teacher Recommendations, so please talk to your student’s current teachers.
- For Row 4, please circle the student’s PE course.
- On the back of the worksheet, the student will circle five classes they want to take the most and then they will number them in order of preference. If a semester class (indicated by a *) is chosen as number #1, make sure #2 is also a semester class. After, the student will sign the back of the form.
- Please sign the front and back of the worksheet where indicated.
- Turn in a completed worksheet to the CHS Counseling Department by January 13, 2022.
