The following students have been named Athletes of the Month by Collinsville High School:
December 2012: Devonte Smith, who demonstrates classroom leadership and placed first in Chatham Glenwood Tournament and the Mascoutah Invitational. He has 85 career wins.
January 2013:
Matthew Flanagan, who tied the school record in bowling with a high game of 300 in competition. Flanagan broke the school record in boys Kahok Bowling with a high conference average of 221 and placed 24th in the state tournament.
Amber Burns, who broke the schools record for the highest girl’s series thrown in competition at 740. She broke the school record for highest girls’ Kahok average at 213 and finished with the highest average in conference by 15 pins.
Collinsville High School Students of the Month
The following students were named Student of the Month by Collinsville High School:
December: Elizabeth “Ebby” Ross, a member of the Science Club and a volunteer.
January: Tanner Houck, helpful to classmates and involved in a variety of clubs and sports.
Collinsville High School Seniors of the Month
The following students were named Senior of the Month by Collinsville High School:
December: Joseph White III, who made a memorial for local fire departments as part of his Eagle Scout project named “Wall of Honor.” He is a member of the cross country team and German Club as well as is active in the Boy Scouts of America. He is entering the U.S. Marine Corps.
January: Mayci Miller, who is a Presidential Volunteer Award winner, Illinois State President in Skills USA and an honor roll student. Miller is involved in yearbook, Skills USA, National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society. She volunteers in the community and will attend the University of Southern Indiana.
