Collinsville, Illinois October 28, 2015 – Collinsville Community Unit School District #10 has launched a dedicated phone line for parents, students and the public to report issues related to safety and security at school. The number is (618) 979-6406.
Tips to the Safe & Secure Hotline can be anonymous or identified. Callers can leave a voicemail or text a message 24 hours a day. The Safe & Secure hotline will be monitored by Unit 10 security staff. All tips will be received in confidence and investigated.
The Safe & Secure Hotline is a proactive measure to curtail problems before they escalate. The idea is to give students and the people in their lives a protected and trusted place to share information and concerns about bullying, theft, weapons, drugs and other safety issues.
Establishing the hotline is not a reaction to any problem or threat in our district, according to Bob Carpenter, security manager for Unit 10. It’s just another place for students to turn for help if a problem arises.
Collinsville Community Unit School District #10 is comprised of 13 schools, serving 6,500 students Pre K-12 in Madison & St. Clair Counties in southwestern Illinois.
