The CMS Advanced Health class traveled to St. Louis University to get an in depth look at the brain. The field trip was part of the Adventures in Medicine and Science (AIMS) program conducted by SLU.
Students had the opportunity to dissect and compare the anatomy of a sheep’s brain with what they had learned about the human brain. The primary focus was on anatomy, function and pathology. The lesson was led by a SLU anatomy specialist.
“We studied the human brain in class, so this field trip gave us an opportunity like no other,” said teacher Ann Wolf. “Everything we learned in the classroom at CMS was reinforced by an auditorium presentation presented by a world class neurosurgeon plus an afternoon of hands-on sheep brain dissections. My students were amazing.”
