Collinsville High School is inviting school families and the community to learn more about suicide prevention on September 13, 2018, from 6:30-8:00 pm in the CHS Auditorium.
The event is presented by the local chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. According to AFSP: “There is no single cause to suicide. It most often occurs when stressors exceed current coping abilities of someone suffering from a mental health condition.”
The program teaches parents to recognize signs of depression and other mental health problems, initiate a conversation with their child and get him/her help.
Parents, guardians, and community members (high school graduates and above) are invited to attend. An RSVP is not necessary for this event.
