Senior of the Month – December 2020- Millicent Collins
Millicent Collins was cast in the fall, rehearsed for many weeks and performed in a “virtual” Nutcracker in Edwardsville as the Sugar Plum Fairy. This role in years past typically is one hired out by the company to a professional dancer. In addition she was chosen for participation with professional dance companies in St. Louis for various productions usually held for college students, such as the Big Muddy Dance Company’s Student Elevate Project and the Dance for Food fundraiser benefitting the St. Louis Area Foodbank – all while maintaining recognition on the CHS Honor Roll.
Senior of the Month – January 2021 – Oliva Norton
Oliva Norton is the head drum major for the CHS Marching Band, and the principal flutist in the Wind Ensemble. She has passed her initial flute audition for the University of Illinois and will complete a live, virtual audition. She has been an All-State selected musician for the past 3 years (a first for anyone in the Collinsville program). Olivia balances her music endeavors with academics, continuing to be recognized on the CHS Honor Roll.
