Olivia Felty and Teacher Lisa Cleveland
Collinsville High School senior Olivia Felty was honored at Powell Symphony Hall in St. Louis for her Express the Music composition.
Olivia‘s prose was among 61 entries selected from 691 to be recognized at a Saint Louis Youth Orchestra concert. Entries came from 59 Missouri and Illinois middle and high schools. Students were asked to write something inspired by Samuel Barber’s Overture to The School for Scandal.
CHS Music Teacher Lisa Cleveland, who accompanied Felty to the event, said, “I’m so proud of Olivia!”
Olivia is a CHS Choir senior and has received several metro-area awards for her poetry and other written works.
