Collinsville High School music programs were proud to share exciting news about students who were selected for the Illinois Music Educators Association (ILMEA) All-District Festival.
ILMEA promotes lifelong music learning and provides leadership for music education, It is the avenue for which students audition for both the All-District and All-State conference.
“This year 11 band students, and 1 choir student auditioned for the All-District festival and ALL of them were selected,” said CHS Band Director Robert Wright, “A number of our students were placed very high within their sections, which improves chances for being selected for the All-State conference in the spring.
“In order to audition, each of these students went through rigorous practice sessions and were required to submit video recordings of themselves playing selected etudes to be adjudicated. Judges for this conference listened to students in all of southern Illinois which covers territory from Alton to Paducah.”
