November 20, 2020 – Announcement from CHS Principal David Snider:
“The CHS Faculty and Staff understands the COVID-19 pandemic has caused extreme hardships for many of our students. Therefore, we have recently adjusted some practices at CHS this semester. Adjustments include eliminating final exams (except for a few specified courses), allowing all 2nd quarter late work to be accepted for full credit, and modifying the grading scale. Teachers will share expectations and procedures directly with their students.
The bottom line is all students have an opportunity to pass their courses regardless of their current grade percentage. We desire to offer our struggling students hope. Students need to participate in all prescribed class activities.
We are also providing high performing students the incentive of ending their semester on Wednesday, December 16 if they are passing their classes. Anyone failing a course will be required to attend school until December 22. Designated students who are currently attending school 4 days per week will be able to continue attending classes until December 22 if desired regardless of their academic standing.”
