The Collinsville High School Math Team had a stellar performance at regional competition.
According to Coach Bill Gottschalk, “We placed 2nd once again behind Carbondale. We had four teams place first and a handful of individuals place. Our overall team total is one of the highest scores we’ve had recently.”
INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVEMENT:
Sophomores Trent Baima 3rd place and Jimmy Moore 1st place.
Junior Jacob Whitener 2nd place
Seniors Alec Votoupal 3rd place, Aidan Latham 2nd place, and Masen Kane 1st place
TEAM ACHIEVEMENT:
The sophomore team of Jimmy Moore, Trent Baima, Ricky Coca, Eliza Apperson, Chelsea Cagg, and Dominique Bacchetti placed 1st.
The senior team of Masen Kane, Aidan Latham, Alec Votoupal, Claire Schuessler, Emily Baima, and Jacob Sorge placed 1st.
The Calculator Team of Aidan Latham, Alec Votoupal, Jacob Whitener, Eliza Apperson, and Hannah Herman placed 1st.
The Junior-Senior Two-Person Team of Masen Kane and Claire Schuessler placed 1st.
All of those mentioned above advance to the state competition in May. Good work Kahoks!
