April 2021 – Despite unique challenges this school year due to the pandemic and remote/hybrid learning, the Collinsville High School Leadership 101 classes successfully completed their Grand Gesture Service Learning Projects by raising significant amounts for their chosen charities.
Every student chose a non-profit and did a presentation to their class proposing a fundraising idea. Each class voted on a organization to support from the information presented by their classmates. Based on those 77 different student created presentations, this year’s recipients were:
3rd Hour: The Oceana Project (led by Kennedy Fisher) $2,000 raised
4th Hour: To Write Love On Her Arms (led by Theo Paxton) $3,250 raised
5th Hour: The ALS Association (led by Lorenzzi Zappa) $1,500 raised
