Members of Mr. Kyle Gordon’s 2018-19 Leadership Class at Collinsville High School completed one of their Grand Gesture Projects on Sunday, May 5, 2019.
According to Mr. Gordon, “In conjunction with Gateway Pet Guardians, the students volunteered time to help set up their newest facility. Students painted three rooms and hallways, set up animal rooms and helped clean up some green space for the animals. The class also raised $2,000 for the new shelter.”
The CHS Leadership course has a unique curriculum developed by Mr. Gordon to teach students about community and civic involvement. As part of the experience, students choose a local charity, organize a fundraiser and donate proceeds to the cause.
