Collinsville High School junior Holly Burchett is nominated for a 2020 Best Performance Award for Community Musical Theatre for her role in Les Miserables School Edition with the Goshen Theatre Project. The awards will be presented June 14, 2020 in St. Louis.
“I was selected out of a large group of incredible youth actresses from theater companies all across Illinois and Missouri. Myself and three other youth actresses have been nominated for Best Youth Supporting Actress,” said Holly.
“I have been involved with Goshen Theater Project since their first production. GTP has become such an incredible experience for me and so many others. Everyone involved is so incredibly supportive and professional. Performing in GTP’s Les Miserables was honestly a dream come true and it was an honor to play Madame Thenardier,” she said.
“I have to thank the entire incredible cast of Les Miserables, especially Barrett Larkin, who played the role of Thenardier, for all of their hard work and dedication. I’d like to thank my vocal instructor Liz Enloe, and I also have to thank the directors and producers of Les Miserables: The director Halli Pattison, our costume and set designer Terry Pattison, and the musical director Brad Hofeditz.”
At CHS, Holly is a member and the public-relations officer of the Drama Club and Thespian Troupe 643. She qualified to become a member of the International Thespian Society her freshman year.
“I have been involved with every theater production at CHS since my freshman year,” said Holly, “Most recently I was honored to play the leading role of Abigail Van Helsing in our fall production of Dracula!”
After high school Holly plans to study musical theater, theater education or performance.
