COLUMBIA, Mo. – Emma Weil of Collinsville, Illinois, was recognized March 3, as one of this year’s Mizzou ’39 recipients at the University of Missouri.
The Mizzou ’39 award is an exclusive honor given to 39 outstanding MU seniors. It recognizes the contributions they have made to campus and the community during their time at Mizzou, demonstrating their commitment to bettering the world around them. This award is presented annually by the Mizzou Alumni Student Association Board.
“I remember going to the Mizzou ’39 ceremony my freshman year, wondering what it would be like to stand up on that stage one day,” Weil said. “Though I am constantly questioning how I got here, I know it would not have been possible without my two incredible parents who support me every day, my siblings who I admire more than they know and the transforming education I was so privileged to receive here at Mizzou.”
Weil, a 2017 graduate of Collinsville High School, is a senior majoring in middle school education. Weil also serves as the vice president of Member Education on the Panhellenic Executive Board, and is a member of Pi Beta Phi. Her parents are Thomas and Memorie Weil.
The MU College of Education has been preparing educational leaders since 1867 and has programs and outreach in all Missouri counties.
